How many non issues will the Republicans and their followers continue to lob at Obama?
Q. Most of the issues or 'non-issues' that they attempt to try to tie Obama too seem to be political. When are they going to start talking about real issues? Do they believe that they country is in good shape?

A. They're stooping to desperate levels calling him a muslim, criticizing him for not wearing a flag pin and saying his wife dresses to provocatively. Like Obama says "When they start bringing up things like this it just shows they've run out of negative things of substance to say."

What legal issues are involved with blogging?
Q. I was thinking of starting a blog so I did some research into it on the internet and came across a lot of stuff that talks about legal issues and blogging. I'm not planning on blogging about controversial issues, (my blog would focus on posts about books, movies, culture, theater, music etc, and all material would be solely my own opinions) so what legal issues are involved with blogging? Should I write a copyright disclaimer or are blog disclaimers actually worthless?

A. Hi, I'm curious what legal issues you came across. Blogging is pretty much online journaling and there aren't really any legal issues. The only legal issues would be if you are selling affiliate products in which case you will want to make a disclaimer of something like "At times I will recommend and link products or services in my blog. I recommend these products with the utmost integrity. I may or may not make commissions off of these products or services I recommend. It is up to the reader to do his or her due diligence when purchasing a product or service". That is just something off the top of my head, but that is the basic idea. What ethical issues are brought up when discussing the following experiments?
Q. The only reason he ended the study early (it was supposed to run for 2 weeks) is because his girlfriend saw some videos of what was going on and threatened to leave him if he didn't end it immediately. It's a good question. How soon after you know that something is harmful to your participants do you need to end the study? How much harm is acceptable, if you think that the harm will be temporary? Would it have been ethical to keep the subjects for another week, and run the risk that things would have gotten really bad, since they could have intervened if anyone's safety was at risk? A. The United States presidential election of 1852 was in many ways a replay of the election of 1844. Once again, the incumbent President was a Whig who had succeeded to the presidency upon the death of his war hero predecessor; in this case, it was Millard Fillmore who followed General Zachary Taylor. The Whig party passed over the incumbent for nomination casting aside Fillmore in favor of General Winfield Scott. The Democrats nominated a "dark horse" candidate, this time Franklin Pierce. The Whigs again campaigned on the obscurity of the Democratic candidate, and once again this strategy failed. A. One major issue concerning the development and utilization of alternative energy sources is the lack of political will to support such endeavor. In the US, former president Bill Clinton did not submit the Kyoto Protocol (an international treaty which aims to reduce the collective emission of Greenhouse Gases in signatory nations) to the Republican-dominated Senate who opposed the abovesaid amendment. Environmental policies in developing nations, like the Philippines, are not adequate, as they permit multinational and transnational companies to deliberately exploit their natural resources for economic gain while disregarding local environmental policies. My employer issues paychecks on payday that can't be cashed for several days. Is this legal?
Q. I work in a tourist town and during slow times my employer issues paychecks that if cashed that day will bounce due to insignificant funds. It's usually only a day or so that you can't cash your check. Is this in anyway illegal? Maybe knowing that a check you've written will bounce or some kind of contractual violation in that we agreed upon a schedule date to be paid.

A. Writing a check with knowledge that there are not sufficient funds to cover it is illegal. It is also potentially a breech of your contract, if you agreed to a certain pay date and he in effect isn't paying you until after that date. You might want to ask him to give you money orders, because if this business goes under, your last pay is going to be nothing but a worthless piece of paper.

They're very strict. Contact your city's health dept. and see what they say for your area. You'd need to file your business with the Dept. of Revenue, and arrange to buy your items wholesale, which means having a tax exempt number. Best thing you can do is call your local SBA or SCORE office (they're in the phone book) and go down to talk with them. They mentor new businesses for free, you can pick their brains. Q. What issues caused the French and the British to go to war over the Ohio Valley? What might have happened in North America had France won the French and Indian war? How did the British government hope to solve the great Britain s finical problem after the French and Indian war? What caused the meting of the stamp act congress? What did it accomplish? If parliament and the king had followed different policies could they have prevented the moves toward independent? Why or why not?

How are social issues different from economic issues?
Q. I have to answer this for class. However, I'm not sure what the right answer is. What I've come up with so far is that economic issues such as men and women receiving equal pay, are affected by social issues, such as society's view that a woman's work is less important. Any ideas?

A. There are a lot of social issues which have no relation to economics at all, both at national levels of society, and at family levels. Social issues are more of the abstract type (which you can't show physically) but most of the economic issues are of the concrete type (which you can show physically). For example relegious fundamentalism. Religious fundamentalists don't quote any economic concerns. Their only point is the kind of belief in God. Simlarly at the level of a family, there could be a social issue due to economics involved, like living standards, who should work, etc. But sexual issues are not related to economics in the family. Similarly bringing up children with cultural values.
